Extended Round of Admissions to Karnataka College via KCET

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) which takes care of the admissions to professional courses in the state has decided to conduct an additional round of admissions for Engineering and Architecture courses to fill up the remaining seats for the academic year 2013-14.
Option Entry for the Extended Round has begin and students who have not secured a seat or are still looking for an upgradation can fill up the Option Form by tonight, 10 pm. Before filling up the preferences, students should also make a note of the Vacant Seats after Round 2.
Allotment for the extended round will be announced within a couple of days (official date not mentioned on the website) and students should report to the institutes on or before August 5.
This is the final round of admissions via KCET for this academic year. Students should check the KEA Website for further announcements.

Round 2 Allotment Declared for KCET

The Round 2 Allotment for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 via Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) has been announced. Students filled he Round 2 Option Form can check their RESULTS.
The allotment was supposed to be announced on July 23 at 10.00 am but KEA took over 2 days to declare the results.
Reporting for allotments to the respective institutes was scheduled between July 23 to July 27. We hope the schedule is extended a bit so as to create less inconvenience.
There has been no announcement regarding Round 2 Cutoffs and further rounds of admissions on the KEA Website.
Round 2 Option Entry Begins via KCET

The Round 2 Option Entry for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 via Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) has begun. Students who are looking for a better allotment or haven't secured a seat can fill up the Option Form by or before July 22, 10.30 am.
All candidates are requested to enter fresh options if they wish to participate in the second round. Round 2 Option Form which was supposed to begin yesterday at 11 am was delayed by almost a day and has finally begun.
Candidates who have secured admission in Round 1 but are looking for a better allotment in Round 2 should note that once allotted a seat in Round 2, their Round 1 Allotment will be cancelled. So, it is advisable to fill in the best or higher options as compared to the Round 1 Allotment.
Student should also make the most of the Vacant Seats after Round 1 before filling the options for the next round.

Counselling Schedule for Karnataka Admissions via KCET

Finally! The counselling schedule for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 is declared.
The schedule was much awaited for months now. Admissions to Karantaka colleges via KCET has been completely disrupted this academic year due to the poor maintaineance of their official website. Lack of announcements kept lakhs of students visiting the KEA website almost every hour which led to the server crash a couple of times.
Moreover, admissions are based on COMEDK as well. Due to the unorganised schedule by KEA, COMEDK, too, has shifted the schedule. As Round 1 admissions via COMEDK preceeded The KCET schedule, the COMEDK have announced that students will be refunded full tuition fee if they secure an admission via KCET.
While the Real Allotment was declared yesterday (check Previous News), the counselling schedule is as follows:

The Real Allotment Results for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 is declared. Students can check their Real Allotment.
The much awaited Allotment for Professional Courses in Karantaka is finally declared today. Admissions to Karantaka Colleges are based on the KCET exam and the unorganised counselling schedule has given over lakhs of students a horrible time.
Students who have secured a seat in Round 1 Allotment can either confirm their options or keep the option on hold and select a higher preference, if allotted, in further rounds.

Dummy Allotment Results Declared for KCET

The Dummy Allotment Results for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 is declared. Students can check their Mock Allotment.
Admissions to Karnataka Professional Courses are conducted by the KEA via the KCET exam. Admission counselling for this year is terrible due to the lack of updates on their official website. Students are not able to understand the entire schedule for counselling.
While the Real Option Form Filling, which started from July 1, was scheduled to terminate on July 7, the allotment that has been declared yesterday is a Mock Allotment. Students can check the Mock Cutoffs as well.

KCET Real Option Entry Begins

The Real Option Entry Form for Admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013-14 has been finally announced. Students who have appeared for the KCET exam can fill the OPTION FORM on or before July 7.
Admissions to Engineering Colleges in Karantaka are based on the Common Entrance Test (K-CET) and Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental for Karnataka (COMEDK). 50% of the seats are reserved for each, KCET and COMEDK.
While COMEDK has announced its counselling schedule on time and is following the same till date, KEA has terribly messed up with its online interface and has not yet mentioned the sequence of events of the entire counselling. While the KEA website showed the entry for Mock Round, Real Option Entry was highly awaited by over lakhs of engineering students from, and outside, the state.
The KEA authorities have finally allowed the Real Option Form for admissions to Engineering and other courses. Last date for the same is July 7 till 11 am.

KCET 2013 on May 1 and 2

The Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test (CET) for Karnataka degree colleges organised by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the academic year 2013 is scheduled on May 1 and 2.
The K-CET is a qualifying examination for both Engineering (B.Tech) and Medical courses in the state of Karnataka, however, medical aspirants HAVE TO appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) to secure a seat in any medical college. "Finally, the board announced the date as many engineering aspirants including me were waiting for the official notice. I expected the dates to be somewhere around the same time and now the preparation will become more intense as JEE Main is scheduled on May 7th, followed by COMEDK on 12th", says Ajith, an engineering aspirant from Bangalore.
According to the schedule drawn up by the KEA, the subject papers will be held on May 1 and 2, while the Kannada test for students applying under the ‘Horanadu’ and ‘Gadinadu’ categories will be on May 3.
